The WIA Office overall goal is
designed to meet the federal requirements of Title I of the Workforce
Investment Act of 1998, to build on and implement innovative and
comprehensive workforce investment activities tailored to meet the
particular needs of the local and regional labor markets, that increase
the employment, retention, and earnings of participants, and increase
occupational skill attainment by participants to improve the quality
of the workforce, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness
of Palau as a nation.
Offers core and intesive programs
for adults and dislocated workers and Training services which includes:

Occupational skills training; -
On-the-job training; -
Skills upgrading; -
Entrepreneurial training; -
Job readiness training; -
Adult education and literacy activities; -
Customized training;
Programs available for youth age
14-18 are:

tutoring, study skills training leading to completion of secondary-education
including dropout prevention
strategies; *
summer employment opportunities linked to occupational and academic
learning; * paid
and unpaid work experience including internship and job shadowing; *
occupational skill training; *
leadership development opportunities; *
supportive services *
adult mentoring
For youth age 16-21:

attaining required occupational skills *
attain secondary school diploma or equivalent *
acquire certificate of successful program completion *
enter into unsubsidized employment *
return to full time education
